Ethan and Ehlana:
Congratulations, Roger and Lisa Jennings – you’re married!
Happy 6th Birthday, Bryn Jennings!
Before we get to our own news of the day, let’s mention that Cassie and Michael are getting teased about not being here for Lisa’s wedding; with the joke being that Michael intentionally booked their current trip so that he wouldn’t have to personally witness a former girlfriend’s ceremony! That might be funnier if Lisa had gotten married first, but why let facts get in the way of the joke – not to mention that Lisa and Roger each did have other boyfriends or girlfriends at the church and reception. For the kids in town, they weirder news from the wedding might be Bryn’s birthday, since she went to the wedding and reception for her Jennings’ cousin along with her family; so she couldn’t have a major birthday party too – though she did at least have a few friends to hang out with at the reception – or at least that’s what we’ve heard; since we weren’t there for either the ceremony or reception. We are happy for Lisa and Roger; and hope that they have a happy, amazing life together!
As for our news of the day, we are boring by comparison. Tai Chi by the river with extra exercise buddies and the breakfast for eight that followed were great, but then our friends moved on from there to their own work and chores plans; and Ehlana and I got to work on a long list of chores at multiple houses and cottages – including Cassie and Michael’s house, Grandma and Grandpa’s place, and several cottages. Mom and Dad needed to take a break to attend the wedding ceremony – mostly because Dad works with basically every family and is also at least casual friends with most of his same-generation parents; but also because Lisa and Roger were high school friends of Cassie’s and spent time at our house – if not nearly as often as Rowen and Tim. Ehlana and I kept working, though, and ended up needing most of the day to get everything done – even with a bit of ‘cheating’ for the indoor chores! Grandma and Grandpa have lawn mowing services for their place – as do the cottages, but other outdoor work is still up to the owners; and most of our lawn work happened at Cassie and Michael’s house – and ours. We had a lunch break and some pauses as we moved between houses, but worked fairly-hard; so we’re also tired tonight. We didn’t get done until after six o’clock, so we had a late dinner with Mom and Dad; and didn’t have any overnight plans with friends – partly because of the wedding and some babysitting that Sophia and Aaron had booked and partly because we needed to share Naomi and Aiden with their families!
Mom and Dad liked hanging out with us for a while, but we aren’t staying up late. We had a visit in the office while doing a bit of work; and then it was bath or Jacuzzi time for the teens in the house. Now we’re winding down toward nap time; and don’t really want to get into any serious news again tonight. We should mention that there was a trade-off for all of the work today where we did get to have a lot of fun, but even writing about the biking, barbeque dinner, and fun with our best friends last night doesn’t seem as-important and catching up on our sleep. As always, it was the love and happiness we got to share with favorite people that mattered the most, while the ‘what’ we did was just an awesome bonus!
Okay, that’s all we’re going to include for this update. We still have one more day to go for this weekend, and we want to be ready for those next adventures big and small; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland right now.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
