Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - April 18, 2025

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 58th Birthday, Jacob Stone!

That feels so strange to start with on Good Friday, but then that’s true for having a birthday party on this particular holiday too.  Keeping the weird going, the ‘good’ news for Jacob was that he also had a day off from the Inn – a rarity for his birthday!  Jake and Stephanie hosted a barbeque lunch and play afternoon for Jacob and his family and friends; so we were there for all of that – along with Cassie, Michael, and our best friends.  Ehlana and I weren’t drafted for any of the work around the meal, but we did help with the clean-up anyway and took care of a lot of the kid control fun and games with all of the next-gen children.  We’ve just finished up with the biking, canoeing, and back yard games; and now we’re getting ready to head over to Sophia’s house.  She’s hosting the co-ed sleepover tonight; so we’re going with another short, early update.

Before w move on, though, we should report that Tai Chi was by the river; we had a snack breakfast; and then we got ready for the Good Friday service at the church and headed over there for the most-solemn event on our church calendar.  That really was a contrast for us compared to this afternoon – and last night too.  We had a lot of fun with our friends and cousins while enjoying the hot weather that lasted into the evening; Mom and Dad went with a barbeque dinner for the family and friends they ended up hosting for that meal; and then they only had six teens for the rest of the night – and we pretty much just did our own thing on the third floor with live music, video gaming, movies, and a lot of co-ed cuddling through until we got around to some nap time.

While Sophia is hosting our sleepover tonight, we should mention that Cassie and Michael are getting a small gang of next-gen nieces, nephews, and cousins at their house – which is partially-why we aren’t there tonight while the younger kids get first-dibs on spending time with them.  That was true this afternoon too, but since we were helping with the kids too; so we did get to spend time with them and hear some of their travel stories.  Finally for family news, we don’t have many family guests this weekend from either Proctor or Johnson clans.  Uncle Rick and Aunt Melissa are here to visit Violet, Dillon, and the kids while their sons are busy with in-law families and Dawn is working, but they’re also using one of the cottages; so we don’t have extra guests at home.  The same is true for Christina’s family – though her parents are staying with them while her sisters are with their husband’s families.  Kaitlyn and Jayden are at their home this weekend – which is why Jeremy went to stay with them this weekend.

Okay, that’s enough for now.  We need to go, since we’re supposed to help Sophia and her Mom with making dinner; so we’re out of here and will have the rest of our story for you with our next update.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
