Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - August 18, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 28th Birthday, Alicia Warren!

Happy 11th Birthday, Ricky Taylor!

Our thanks go out to Ricky and his family for the break we got to have from Zack, Eli, and the other boys that spent the day at Ricky’s party and camping night!

As for our news of the day, we had fun last night at the park – though ‘our’ team lost their game despite all of the extra cheer support.  We were busy with the kid control during the game; the babysitting that followed included an animated and kid-friendly pick for our outdoor movie; and then we eventually either sent those kids home with parents or others or put them to bed in tents while also staying up too-late with the other teens and older kids while enjoying some quality co-ed cuddling and teen chat time.

After getting some nap time, we were back to the busy – though Tai Chi by the river was a quiet and happy way to start our day.  Don’t include Ethan with that sentiment, since his day started out with a long and spicy kiss with Naomi; and they didn’t really need the exercise after that!

Moving along, it was a challenge to get everyone fed and ready for church, but we managed to get there on time; and even managed to get some of the tents and gear packed up and put away along with the cooking, cleaning, and other chores around the house.  The church service and Sunday school were awesome while also being a nice break for us, and then it was back to the busy again as we returned home to more chores for lunch; packing up the rest of the tents and gear; and dealing with everything from helping outgoing guests to get ready to hit the road for their homes to kid control ahead of another visit to the Ridge River Ranch.  We went along to the ranch, but this time, we helped with the toddlers and their corral adventure instead of going on the trail ride.  We haven’t done that very often, so in addition to having fun with our youngest cousins; we enjoyed the time with the animals on the farm and at the vet clinic.  Doing that was messier than the rides, so we hopped into the river after getting home before adding in some back yard play time; and then we opted for showers ahead of the late buffet at the Inn before meeting up with our dates and the rest of our family and friends either along the way to the Inn or once we got there.

Calling that dinner a date for us is a bit misleading, since we were also all on kid control too, but we had fun; the food was great; and there weren’t any major drama issues – again thanks in-part to Ricky’s birthday adventures.  Ethan and I didn’t have any plans after dinner with our friends or family because we were booked to work in the office with Mom and Dad; so that’s what we did while our best friends have been with their own families instead.  That probably seems weird to a lot of kids and teens, but that really is different for us; and we miss Naomi and Aiden as much or more than we miss our parents when apart from them.  That’s definitely affected by our links with them; and those connections will just get stronger as we grow up.  Fortunately, our parents understand; and continue to let us get away with practically living together for days in a row – along with favorite fun like co-ed sleepovers! ;^)

Since getting home, we’ve kept busy with a Magi lesson and lots of family business and charity work; we used time phasing to get more done; and now Ethan and I are winding down to nap time with our usual computer checks and twin chat fun.  The world continues to roll along with all of the ongoing wars, conflicts, and the rest of the man-made or natural disasters, but we are not going to get into any rants tonight because we want to stay happy.  Cassie and Michael are in Austria tonight; and they will be splitting their final week in Europe between Austria and Switzerland.  Some people might think that they could do more in other European countries when it comes to charities and being able to help more people, but in this case; that isn’t really true because they’ll be dealing with financing and other projects that will affect people in other countries around the world.  We also have family business interests in both countries that Cassie and Michael will be checking on in-person, and while that’s different than what we did with the archives around the world; we do have some ancient treasures that are much safer where they are than they ever could be here at home.  No details about that sort of thing will ever be included in our general archives or journals; so that’s all we have for the Cassie and Michael news today.

Ethan and I should head off to sleep soon, so that’s also all we have for this report.  The countdown is on toward the end of the summer and start of the school year now that we’re past half-way through August, but we’re not really feeling much about that yet and are more-interested in having Cassie and Michael home again this weekend.  We’ll continue to be busy this week, but instead of offering a preview; we’ll just cover those stories as they happen.  While you stay tuned for that or flip digital pages in your ‘now’ and our future; we’ll call it a night and head for our beds starting right now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
