Ethan and Ehlana:
Try not to be shocked, but we are at home tonight and don’t have any overnight guests! Our parents didn’t order us to take a break – we’re all just tired; and Naomi and Aiden were good with some family-only time too. Before we get to that part of this report, though, let’s begin with the football news.
Our first-round game was against Mount Pleasant, and we won by a score of fifty-six to fifteen, and while those numbers are lop-sided; the game play story is that we scored touchdowns all evening while Mount Pleasant only managed field goals. I can report that our defense played great too; since those five field goals were only about half of the story because we stopped everything else they threw at us – including three interceptions and a fumble recovery. Ehlana wants me to add that I had three touchdowns including after one of those interceptions; and Aiden and Aaron had two touchdowns each. I want to mention that our cheer squad was awesome again last night too – especially their half-time routine. They are really amazing with tricks that can normally only be done with larger squads; so they always impress.
There was a team celebration after the game that we attended for an hour or so; and then Ehlana and I hosted the co-ed sleepover with our four best friends. It was getting late by the time we got home, so while we had fun; we also didn’t end up doing much more than cuddling in pairs, chatting, and listening to music videos through until we crashed into nap mode. We didn’t get a lot of sleep, but Magi-powered fatigue healing was an option before Tai Chi by the river; so we did that and got our day started. The riverside workout was followed by a hot breakfast; and then it was time to get started on the chores. Naomi and Aiden worked with us while Sophia and Aaron moved on to their own, respective plans for the day. While the fall clean-up work is pretty much done now, we still had a lot to do – and that included the usual work around the cottages and Cassie and Michael’s house. The weather included some showers and it is cooling through the weekend, but we still managed to get our to-do lists finished by three-thirty. That’s when we split up from Naomi and Aiden; we got cleaned up; and then helped Mom with making dinner for four. We didn’t do anything fancy for that meal, but we did linger and chat for more than an hour – including a vid-chat with Cassie and Michael. They’re having a good weekend and decent weather too – a good time for mostly taking the day for sightseeing and a break. We are mildly-envious of the tropical views they showed us and pictures they’ve sent from the Cook Islands, and the high-seventies seems even-better to us tonight compared to the showers and mid-fifties high we worked through today.
Ehlana and I took care of the dinner clean-up; we watched a movie with Mom and Dad; and have been upstairs since then. We did a music practice, and while we haven’t been doing that with just the two of us very often lately; we should mention that our twin relationship allows us to have a fairly-amazing synergy with our music – just as we do with everything else. That little blast of musical play time helped us to wind down from the chores; and now we’re dealing with the usual computer checks. While we took yesterday off, the top news story was all about President Trump’s meetings with Hungary’s Prime Minister Orban and more talk of peace in Ukraine – yet another flip-flop that we don’t expect to go anywhere and will be meaningless. While the politicians yap pointlessly, the battles continue on the frontlines and it is really looking ugly for the Ukrainian army. The air attacks in both directions continue, but contrary to western news sources; Russia is by far doing much more damage to Ukraine – especially to the infrastructure. Nobody should want to see an entire country being destroyed, but why should this be any different to what western leaders have done to so many other countries? We think that the Ukrainian leaders should have thought about what has happened in all of those other countries after western-led and instigated conflicts before agreeing to be the latest pawns in the big game.
That is a rather depressing thought, but then so are the thoughts we have about the plight of the Palestinians and the possibly-imminent conflict in Venezuela. While political nonsense rolls along daily, the Palestinians are not being helped in any meaningful way while Israel continues to destroy Gaza and pick away at the West Bank. There are new stories about a new military base in Syria for our armed forces; and we don’t see that helping anything when Syria also still hosts a naval base and air base for Russia. Add in the Israeli forces and all of the various militias and factions; and we predict nothing good for the people of Syria anytime soon. Finally, we haven’t seen any actual improvements in the tariff and trade war issues around the world, and again, while there is a lot of talk about making deals; the only changes seem to always be for the worse instead of for better.
Let’s stop there. We’re ready to split up and get some sleep now, and that is an option; so that’s all for this update.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
