Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - May 18, 2025

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 6th Anniversary, Garrett and Jen Wingborough!

We wished them the best while at church this morning, but didn’t get involved in their special day for any partying.  Their family and friends took care of that; and we’ve heard that they have had a good day and that we probably don’t want details for what they might be doing with a kid-free night!

Our morning started with Tai Chi by the river with Mom and Dad, and while it was only in the mid-fifties; that is still comfortably-warm compared to our first spring forays into outdoor workouts!  The high today didn’t quite get to eighty, but that worked out pretty well for us too.  After church and Sunday school this morning, we decided to bike to Quarry Lake with some friends and cousins; we took a picnic lunch with us; and gave the parents a kid-free afternoon – also with no details wanted about that for some of them!  The ride out to our favorite campground was a nice warm-up; we played there and had our picnic because the campground owners love us and let us do that – though none of the best activities are open yet; and then we biked home again where some of us stayed together because Mom and Dad hosted a barbeque dinner for some family and friends.  That meal was really good too; we helped with the clean-up; and then our guests headed for their homes while we wrapped up our day with a Magi lesson; bath or Jacuzzi time; and a music practice for Ehlana and me because we want to be ready for the parade on Memorial Day.

Let’s wind this down with an odd news story.  The Mexican Navy had an incident in New York City when one of their ships collided with the Brooklyn Bridge.  Fortunately for the bridge, it was a tall ship that is a training vessel – or was; since we don’t yet know whether the damage can be repaired or not.  The masts were snapped and there were twenty-two injuries reported so-far, but this gets to be an odd story because the bridge wasn’t taken down too – and that would have been a disaster.  There were injured people and a beautiful tall ship was damaged, so this isn’t a ‘good’ story, but it is at least better than most world news, so let’s go with it and call it a night.  Dad and Anna Marie will be heading to Crystal Springs in the morning and we’ll be up early to see them off; so that’s all we have for this report and we’re going to get some sleep now while we can!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
