Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - May 6, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 4th Birthday, James Johnson!

Happy 7th Anniversary, Malcolm and Nadine Sinclair!

We’ve had an interesting day!  It began quietly-enough with Tai Chi by the river and breakfast with Mom and Dad and then our academic adventures were fun, busy, and uneventful, but then we moved on to the start of baseball season by checking out Faith’s first practice after school along with some family and friends; we followed that up with some biking on the trails; and then we had Cassie and Michael with us for dinner because we were also all invited to the Magi Council meeting that Mom and Dad hosted tonight too.  Our involvement in that meeting was all about a recap of Cassie and Michael’s trip; future plans; and their work plans for the coming months.  Ethan and I didn’t stay for that entire meeting, since we didn’t need to be in on all of the discussions; so we also made time for some work on our computers and a music practice before getting in on the goodbyes and a post-meeting chat with Mom, Dad, Cassie, and Michael.  Bath or Jacuzzi time was needed after that; and now we’re winding down toward nap time with the usual twin chat and computing.

We are going to get into some world news tonight because the fighting in Ukraine is evolving and getting worse for the Ukraine army as two years of fighting appears to be leading to a collapse as attrition really seems to be causing significant problems for them – possibly from top-to-bottom as they’ve lost their most-experienced officers and many of the troops that are left are poorly-trained and inexperienced.  That isn’t news that is being widely-reported in the western media, but that is irrelevant if it is what is happening on the ground when it could lead to a total defeat for Ukraine.  French Foreign Legion soldiers are apparently being sent to Ukraine or are already there; and that could escalate the war and possibly lead to an expansion of the war that would involve France directly.

The conflict in the Middle East may be taking another turn for the worse too as Israel is apparently ready to bomb and attack Gaza again in one of the few places left that they haven’t already pretty much destroyed; and there are more than one-million citizens in the area that are now at even-more risk than they already are while dealing with famine, disease, and everything else being done to them by the Israeli forces.  All of the world conflicts are insane and really need to be stopped, but that still isn’t happening; and all we can do is help where we can and hope that we will eventually be able to change the entire world as we’re continuing to do here at home.

Okay, that’s enough of a rant for tonight; so that’s all for this report.  Stay tuned; since our week is just going to get busier as we go along from here!

***RESTRICTED UPDATE***

Cassie and Michael and Mom had an update for the Dementyev family in Russia.  We weren’t surprised to learn that Vasya’s son, Matysh, has taken over as the head of their family corporation, but we have been surprised to learn that Vasya only announced his ‘retirement’ from the company while he has apparently been allowed to live.  That’s really all we have for their news, so we don’t know exactly what has happened to him beyond that, but we are glad that he will at least have time to reflect and maybe even find his way to the Light.  Let’s stick with that hope; and we’ll try to keep an eye on him; since we don’t want to think about other alternatives for why Matysh has chosen to keep his father alive.

***END OF RESTRICTED UPDATE***

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
