Ehlana and Ethan:
We’ve had a happy day so far that started with a group Tai Chi workout by the river that Cassie and Michael ‘hosted’ that was followed by the various, crazy-busy breakfasts that happened at various homes while being fit into our schedules around getting ready for the holiday weekend service at the church. The bits of rain we’ve had and still expect to have this evening haven’t gotten in the way of our fun; so we’re very happy about that after getting to spend more time outdoors than we expected when the forecast hadn’t been looking good. The teens did a great job with the music, skits, and the rest of the service; our family split up for smaller lunches at a handful of homes; and then Ethan and I chose to join the gang that biked to Quarry Lake while there were also groups that opted for a canoe ride, back yard or park play, or holiday weekend shopping.
Our ride to Quarry Lake was a blast; we spent an hour there swimming and playing; and then we biked home with time to spare to get ready for the late buffet at the Inn. Ethan and I are currently getting cleaned up and ready for that meal while our best friends and pretty much everyone else is doing that too. The rest of the news for today can wait for our final holiday weekend report that we’ll get to sometime tomorrow night, but before we move on; let’s offer a quick note or three about the rest of our Saturday.
The major barbeque dinner was awesome; we helped with some of the work, kid control, and the evening entertainment that included a major campfire. Ethan and I were split up for the night while he was with Naomi for the night and I was with Aiden. All of our visiting cousins were busy elsewhere as they took turns with other aunts, uncles, and cousins – including the group that was with Cassie and Michael for the night. We are going to be part of the teens and tweens that will get our turn for a night with Cassie and Michael tonight; so we’re looking forward to that adventure too!
While we still have time before we head to the Inn, we want to wrap this up now and move on, so stay tuned for that final holiday weekend update; and we’ll get out of here and back to living the adventures!
