Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - October 7, 2025

Ethan and Ehlana:

If we could get busier and fit more into a day without using extensive time phasing; I don’t know how we could make that happen!  Tai Chi was outdoors because the rain had moved on by then, but our feet got a bit damp thanks to the still-wet grass.  A more-standard school day breakfast followed; and then we moved on to our academic adventures.  Ehlana had her cheer squad practice at noon; and had the school band practice while I was busy with the football team.  I was good with the better weather for that workout – including the cooler high of around seventy degrees that made the extreme exercise a bit easier compared to summertime workouts.  Our team continues to get better every day too, and while we won’t get over-confident; that reality would worry the other teams we still have on our schedule!

Aaron hosted our dinner and study session between practices and then we headed to the church for the teen praise team practice that was our last ahead of the service that we’ll be leading for the fall festival weekend and at the park if the weather cooperates.  Ehlana and I came ‘home’ to Cassie and Michael’s house after seeing Naomi and Aiden to their homes along the way; and then we did a bit of family business work with them that included some time phasing to get everything done.  Since we’re on that topic; let’s use that lead-in to mention Cassie and Michael’s impending fall trip that they’ll be starting next Monday.

We are very jealous that they are going to be spending the next six weeks in the South Pacific; and they will definitely be adding in some sightseeing and play time with their work as they wander their way through the region from Fiji to the French Polynesian islands.  Ehlana and I expect that the toughest part of their trip will be trying to work at all in paradise; and we’ll also expect future jokes about a winter home for the Magi of the Light on a tropical island – something that we would love and won’t happen anytime soon if ever!  They are going to spend more time in each location, but part of the reason for that is the need to travel between islands and visit more project sites that we either already help with or will be starting new projects and partnerships.  They’ll also have a wide variety of accommodations available to them; so it will not be a five-star vacation every day – though any ‘sacrifices’ are sure to be offset by all of the awesome for everything else!  We’ll have daily updates as they are on those adventures; so stay tuned for those stories between next week and Thanksgiving.

We do still get to spend the rest of this week with them, and we want to be back to full power by morning for the next blast of fun; so that’s all for this report.  The rest of the world rolls on with our without our commentary on the daily insanities we learn about all of the time; so we’re choosing to stay happy tonight and not let any of the problems elsewhere to bother us.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
