Ethan and Ehlana:
I am happy to report tonight that Aiden had a very happy birthday yesterday; Ehlana is responsible for a lot of his happiness today; and I did not ask for our want any details – though I am also sure that Naomi did have a chat with Ehlana about the ‘best’ parts of Aiden’s special day from a girlfriend’s perspective. The rest of us tried to help with Aiden’s fun, and we all enjoyed his birthday dinner and party; so we had a good rest of the day on Wednesday. We also fit in our study session, since our teachers didn’t give us the day off from our work as a bonus gift for Aiden; and the party wrapped up by ten o’clock because it was a school day and because Aiden’s father needed to get a handful of hours of sleep before the early start to his work day today. I am also not going to write about the rest of my night with Naomi. We had fun; and one of us prefers to keep the details private while Naomi definitely shares with Ehlana more than I will ever share that sort of chat time with Aiden or anyone else! ;^)
We have had a very busy day since getting up for Tai Chi this morning. Naomi and I went over to exercise by the river with Ehlana and Naomi; split up again for breakfast; and then our school day highlight was going to the church with the school band for the seniors’ Halloween luncheon. We needed to go over early-enough to set up – and that included having the basics for our Naomi and the Haunted Harmonies’ gear. We played two songs for our part of the entertainment along with the songs we played with the school band; that musical adventure took up most of our afternoon by the time we had everything packed up and back to the school; and then we had to move right on to our football or cheer squad practices. Naomi hosted our dinner and study group session that included another music practice for our band to get ready for the school dance tomorrow night; and that’s why we skipped game night at the Inn. We got teased about having other motives for doing that – like some parent-free, co-ed time, and while that is a great idea; it isn’t what we did tonight!
Ehlana and I came home shortly after Naomi’s parents got home from the gaming at the Inn and a chat that included reports of the jokes directed at us from some of our favorite people that were at the Inn too. We had a similar visit with Mom and Dad once at home, but we didn’t do any work or even a Magi lesson with Mom tonight. Bath or Jacuzzi time followed that chat; and we’ve been busy with the twin chat and computing since then. Getting caught up on Cassie’s and Michael’s adventures, they spent ‘today’ in Samoa for their Friday in that time zone – mostly because of the work schedules for two of their partners on those islands. They’d stayed in American Samoa yesterday, and while they’ve had lots of wet weather continuing; they’ve also had sunny breaks in the mix and it is warmer in both sets of islands with highs that hover near ninety degrees. They are getting a lot done; learning a lot; and having a lot of fun with the work and cameo play breaks.
Moving on to the world and political news, the top stories from the legacy media are about President Trump’s ‘deals’ with all of the leaders he is meeting with while on his trip to Asia and the economic conference in South Korea. As always, we have to sort through all of the nonsense to even get close to any facts, and while our President continues with his usual claims of being the greatest deal-maker in history and how great every meeting and deal is with everyone that capitulates to all of his demands; the details are not really all that impressive to us. We also have doubts that even the deals being claimed won’t actually happen; since we do actually remember history and that includes recent ‘deals’ that have been broken on one or both sides. The agreements announced today with China won’t last for long when threats are still being made for new sanctions against them over supporting Russia and other issues – like stealing China-owned companies or other assets. When you think about those recent thefts for Russian and Chinese assets; it is a wonder that any country would agree to invest anything in our country – or Europe! As for the bottom line from that blast of political and economic news; we’ll wait and see whether anything good happens from all of those supposedly-amazing deals.
On the world war front, the drums are still being banged for war with Venezuela and possibly other countries in the region too; and we continue to hope that our leaders will not go there and make yet another insane choice to actually start another war. Israel continues to bomb and kill and starve the Palestinians – along with all of the other horrors and crimes they commit in the region; and that ceasefire and ‘peace’ deal isn’t happening at all while the world continues to let the genocide continue after the photo-op in Egypt allowed them to pretend that they’re doing anything good at all. The Ukrainian army and country continue to be decimated in that war, but that isn’t getting a fraction of the attention that President Trump is getting for meeting with the Asian leaders to make deals that don’t really even get us back to the status-quo that we had in past years! We can report that the latest sanctions are having an effect on Russia – they’re getting angry and hardening their positions and fighting harder. We’ve mentioned their newly-announced and tested cruise missile that has unlimited range because it is nuclear powered, but now they’ve also revealed a nuclear powered underwater drone that is another very-scary new weapon – and both can carry nuclear warheads. For this new drone, imagine an underwater nuclear explosion off the coast of any of our major cities that creates a radioactive tidal wave or Tsunami! That was one example we noted, but while that is scary; we don’t even want to imagine what military researchers will come up with next thanks to this kind of new tech! While they will surely come up with even-worse weapons; we wish that they would take that kind of micro-nuclear power and use it for good. Reports are that these little power units can start up in minutes and get to full-power quickly, and if that is true; then imagine what that could mean for powering other things – like cities and factories and homes! That could change the world in a good way – especially if they could eventually be built at a reasonable cost and in quantities that could power the world! Maybe that wouldn’t be possible to also be cost-effective, but we would love to know those details – and that use would be far-better than say, creating fleets of nuclear-powered fighter jets and bombers with unlimited range. That has us picturing other issues like pilots needing pit stops for obvious reasons, but then those future jets are more-likely to be drones anyway. Unlimited range would be very handy for space travel too, but we haven’t heard any announcements from Russia for any micro-nuclear powered missions to Mars or beyond!
I must be getting tired; since that also has me picturing a Magi-powered space mission, so we should wrap this up and call it a night! Stay tuned, since while we won’t be trick-or-treating tomorrow; we are expecting to have an awesome Halloween with fun at school; the last game of the regular season; and then the school dance after that! We should also get all of the sleep we can to be ready for those adventures; so we’re out of here right now.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
