***Heirs of the Magi News Flash!*** The annual fall festival is now behind us, and Cassie and Michael are heading out on their fall trip - this time to the South Pacific! They'll miss out on the Halloween fun at home and the rest of the high school football season, but all of that time in tropical paradises will likely be worth those little sacrifices! Some favorite grandparents will be away for adventures in Arizona or elsewhere too, but our favorite Magi staying at home are sure to have a lot of fun anyway. We'll have all of the adventure highlights from home and away right here for you each day; so... ...Visit Witch Falls often to keep up with all of our latest stories; and Happy Reading! P.S. Thank-you to everyone enjoying our stories from Witch Falls as we have passed five-hundred thousand views!

Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - October 4, 2025

Ethan and Ehlana:

Congratulations, Caleb, Erica, and the Palmer and Bassett clans – it’s a girl!

Welcome to the Witch Falls Family, Rose-Marie Palmer!

The new addition to our community is actual breaking news since her official birth time was three-thirty-seven this afternoon!  Cassie and Michael have been busy today while helping out at the clinic as part of the birthing team; and they were needed because Rose-Marie is a very-strong Magi.  She did not join the hometown Magi Masters’ club with her cousins, but she is going to be a little powerhouse; and will have the advantages that all new Magi in our community have now with Mom’s training programs.

Having Erica go into labor this morning changed up our day quite a bit because of Cassie and Michael’s need to be there for her, but that really just meant more work for us – and our four best friends.  We’ve still gotten all of our work done plus the outdoor chores to-do list at Cassie and Michael’s place and the weather has been great for a fall clean-up day with sunny skies and a high in the mid-eighties.  That was hot-enough for us to take cool-down swim breaks in the river and we took care of our own lunch break, but we really did just work the rest of the time from breakfast at Sophia’s house to now.  We worked as a crew of six all day too; kept four lawn tractors going most of the day; and only needed adult help with a truckload of mulched and bagged yard waste that went out to a farm compost pile.  Ehlana and I don’t write about that kind of detail very often, but while we’re there; our little town does do what we can for re-using and re-cycling to minimize the weekly garbage.  The details for pretty much all of our services from water and power to sewage and waste are boring, everyday parts of life; so don’t expect us to start adding in regular updates for that – just as we don’t write about daily grooming or bathroom breaks!

Okay, Ehlana’s Jacuzzi gets mentioned regularly, but that is one of her happy places; so it gets an exception! ;^)

Moving along, now that Rose-Marie has arrived, Cassie and Michael are not going to take a break for the rest of the day – they are hosting a play night and sleepover for a gang of teens and kids – including us.  This update is coming at you while we’re getting cleaned up and ready to welcome all of those cousins and friends; and they will all be here soon because Cassie decided not to cook dinner and Michael is currently at the Pizzeria picking up a major order that they placed hours ago once that decision and the sleepover plans were made by the collective gang of parents that were at the clinic for most or parts of the day.  We’ll have all of the evening and sleepover news in our next update, but we need to get back to the real life fun soon; so let’s wrap this up.

We are not going to get into a major world news update, but do want to mention yet another blast of stories making the rounds today about peace between Israel and Hamas leaders.  As always, that would be awesome if true, but we’ll wait to find out what actually happens, since if life on the ground doesn’t get better for the Palestinian people and everyone else in the region caught up in the destruction and fighting; those declarations of peace mean nothing – even when what we’re really talking about here is a surrender instead of a peace deal.  That sounds cynical, but we already have people who have forgotten the imminent peace deal with Iran earlier this year that ended up being a cover for launching a major, unprovoked attack on Iran.

It would be too-easy to get started on a rant right now, so I’ll stop there; and we’ll go and help Cassie with the incoming guests and the set-up for dinner.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
