Happy 13th Anniversary, Amy and Jared Spencer!
We didn’t get to help out with one of our favorite teacher’s celebration; and hope that their family and friends have taken care of making their day awesome!
Since our last update, we have had a lot of fun from the buffet at the Inn through to our sleepover at Cassie and Michael’s house. While the food and last blast of family time with outgoing weekend guests were highlights of our day, the goodbyes that followed didn’t take long because everyone that was traveling wanted to be home ahead of the rain if possible. Cassie and Michael had a gang of teens meet up with them at their house; and the rest of our afternoon and evening included lots of play time both indoors and out. There was some swimming; live music; video gaming; and movies. Jayden was the only ‘official’ Proctor clan cousin staying here for two weeks, but that’s because Kaitlyn is here for most of the summer to work before she heads off to college with Jeremy in August. We don’t have as-many Johnson clan teens staying for visits this summer – mostly because Kara and Eddie have summer jobs at home, but we have more of the younger cousins now that they’re getting old-enough to stay for either one or two weeks. Naomi also has her York cousins staying for two weeks; so we’ll be including them in a lot of the fun we have planned with the rest of the cousins. We’ll have more on them with some of our upcoming reports, but for last night; Nicole was the only Johnson clan teen to join us for the teen night; and she mostly hung out with Kaitlyn and Jeremy – and Cassie and Michael.
Let’s mention here that all of the younger cousins had other plans for last night; so they had their own adventures either in groups or while spending time with grandparents or aunts, uncles, and cousins. We’ll be sharing all of them, and that includes Cassie and Michael; since they have a different group of cousins with them tonight. Ehlana and I also want to mention that there are new next-gen kids on the way, so there was some baby talk over the weekend; with Martin and Kimberly up next because she’s due in August with their first child. We got some of that news last night from Cassie and Michael; and that chat included an update for Michael’s cousin, Erica; since she and Caleb apparently spent some time with our cousins because Erica is due in early-October.
This update is getting a bit scattered; so let’s move on with the news from today. Tai Chi was by the river this morning; we had a major breakfast that we helped with all of the work for; and then we moved on to play for the rest of the day through to now. We had some spits of rain this morning, but the afternoon has been nice with a high in the mid-nineties. We did some biking on the trails; played at the park; went swimming several times; and now I’m getting ready to head over to Naomi’s house for the rest of the day because she’s going to entertain her York cousins without extra guests to have some quality time with Gerald and Yvonne. There are storms in the forecast overnight, so we couldn’t do a major camping night anyway; so this works for us tonight – and Ehlana and Aiden are happy to have a co-ed night without anyone else. Ehlana is hosting their sleepover; and Naomi is sure that they’ll have more fun – while I’ll pretend not to know that she’s likely right about that! ;^)
We have covered our story to this point in the day, though, and we are not going to offer any world or political news for this report; so that’s all we have for today. Tomorrow is Brianna’s birthday, so stay tuned for our next update; since we expect that her special day will be amazing and newsworthy!
