Ehlana and Ethan:
It continues to feel wintry with lows in the mid-twenties and a high that reached the mid-forties this afternoon; so the Christmassy feeling has stayed with us even on a day that hasn’t included any major holiday fun. Before moving on from that thought, though; let’s mention that we’re keeping up with old and newer traditions even though we’re teens now; and those daily traditions include treats from our Advent calendar each morning and a search for our Elf on the Shelf. Sparkle likes to hide, and for the record; we’re not allowed the ‘cheat’ to find her! Since we haven’t been keeping up with our family Elf on the Shelf news; let’s also mention that we have a St. Bernard named Holly Berry; and an Arctic fox named Frosty. When Sparkle arrived this year; she brought along our new Abominable Snowman, Little Grunt; and we haven’t decided whether to re-name him yet; since his current name seems to be part of the new ‘legend’ and his story.
Moving along, we were indoors for Tai Chi and breakfast; our academic adventures were fun and not newsworthy except that we’re getting started on practices for the school Christmas concert and are helping with the music for two of the primary classes. Okay, that does mean that we’ve had some Christmas-themed fun today, but we were just getting started today and only had meetings and got the music we’ll need from those teachers. While we had fun at school; Ethan and I were both happy to be set free and go to play at the lab; we picked up picnic dinners so we could stay for the evening; and worked for a total of eleven hours – including the time-phased hours that allowed me to finish four experiments while Ethan worked on two books and a scroll. In real time, we came home at ten-thirty; and I’ll take the blame for that; since two of my experiments needed to be partially-done in normal time due to tech limitations.
Since getting home, Ethan and I did a bedtime chat and snack with Mom and Dad; and we’ve been working on our bedtime computing since then. I am not going to offer another world news rant tonight. We’ve had a fulfilling day; and I want to stay content and happy; so let’s just wrap this up with our Christmas music video pick of the day. This song might not be thought of as a classic yet by parents and grandparents, but it did come out twenty-four years ago this Christmas; so it is one to us; and will always be a favorite. That’s true for this particular version of the song; so enjoy it while we get started on our nap time.
