Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - December 22, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 24th Birthday, Marc Johnson!

We left it up to Marc’s family and friends to celebrate his special day, but did offer our best wishes while at church today – twice.

Our adventures kept us busy-enough without birthday parties added to the mix.  Aiden and I had fun with Mom and Dad – and on our own – last night; we watched movies after a pasta dinner; there was some alone time in the lounge that we don’t need to write about here; and then the co-ed nap time was pretty good too.  Naomi made sure that Ethan had fun too – including some hang-out time with her parents.  They were also spared issues with Zack and Eli; since the boys decided to hang out at Zack’s house last night.  Naomi assures me that Ethan had more fun with their alone time; I’m sure she’s right about that; and we won’t be writing about that either! ;^)

We’ve spent a lot of today at the church – though our respective breakfasts were at different homes.  The church service and Sunday school were good; Mom and Dad ended up with six teens for lunch; and then we were at the church again for the final set-up and run-through for the Christmas concert.  We were at the Inn for the only buffet of the day; needed to make that quick; and then we were back at the church for the teen-led concert.

The show was amazing; the congregation loved everything – including our musical contributions; and there was a reception in the fellowship hall that included Christmas treats and drinks.  That’s why we got home fairly-late; and Mom didn’t let us do any Magi lessons or work.  Bath or Jacuzzi time was needed; and now we’re winding down with an extended twin chat and computer check.  We don’t have any overnight guests, but we’re all tired and ready for some quality nap time.  Before we get to that, though, we really should include a weekend update for world news.  There is no way to offer one or two top stories to complain about; since there were just too-many of them when the world seems to be going nuts.  The various wars continue to be terrible, but a terror attack at a German Christmas market was horrid; political upheavals are spreading because more people are getting angry and even desperate as quality of life declines.  News flash to the elite of the world, when trillions of dollars are wasted in needless conflicts while trillions more get destroyed instead of using that money to make life better for people; they tend to get angry and resent their inept, greedy, narcissistic leaders and want to replace them.

Ethan and I have had a happy day and weekend; so let’s stop the negative commentary now.  Our Christmas music video picks come with the guessing game again tonight, but for a twist; we have three songs for you with one joint choice; so have fun with the guesses and listening to the music; and we’ll go and get some sleep!
