Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - December 31, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy New Year’s Eve Day!

Try not to be disappointed, but we’re ending the year with a placeholder update.  Our day is just getting started, but we’re going to be busy for the rest of the day and into the New Year; so we’ll only cover the rest of the news from last night.

While we had dinner with our four best friends – a meal that we cooked for ourselves too, Mom and Dad went out for Christina and Josiah’s anniversary dinner.  They didn’t go out with the younger adults to the pub after that meal, but that was mostly because Dad had work to do in the office.  While he and Mom worked, we had an hour or so of music play time; there was some video gaming; and then the best part of our night was the movie and co-ed cuddle time.  We actually didn’t stay up late because we fell asleep during that first movie – or most of us did; and I don’t need to comment on what one couple might have been keeping busy with while the rest of us crashed and napped! ;^)

As for today, we’re booked for chores to help get ready for the party Mom and Dad will be hosting tomorrow; we’ll help out with decorating the Inn for the party there tonight; and we’ll be there for the dinner and party too – along with our local family and many of our friends.  While we get started on those chores and eventually get to the partying, we hope that your day in our future is amazing too and that you’re blessed with the same love and joy that we get to enjoy with all of our favorite people!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - December 30, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 7th Anniversary, Christina and Josiah!

We’ve had a good day so far with a work-play morning at the lab or archives and an afternoon of fun with our friends and some cousins that included some biking and park play time.  It only warmed into the mid-forties, but that didn’t keep us from enjoying ourselves.  Now we’ve split up while our four best friends pack overnight bags and we get the third floor ready for a co-ed night and sleepover.  The rest of our story for today can wait for our next report and I’m not going to take the time for my overdue world news rant; so that’s all for this update.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - December 29, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

We’ve had a very busy day, and while we could offer an extended report; let’s just go with the basics and maybe we’ll catch up on our weekend thoughts sometime tomorrow.

Naomi and I had the better night with the girls last night; Ethan and Aiden had a challenging night with the guys without much sleep; and then we each had busy starts to our day with big breakfasts here or with the Ayres.  The teens led the church service, so that was amazing; and then we had a major gang at the Inn for the first buffet of the day.  Most of our weekend guests that were heading home today had packed and loaded up by then; so the big meal of the day was also our last blast of family fun for most of the combined families.  That was a great way to wrap up our time together; and then the goodbyes were quick and a bit sad before Ethan and I were drafted for the clean-up that we got started on right away.  Mom let us take a break from the work and we went biking with our friends and some cousins, but we also didn’t make any plans for overnight guests because we needed to do some work – including family business and charity work.  We only had a snack meal for dinner; and we’ve spent the evening working on our computers and keeping up with loads of laundry and other chores.  Thanks to some quality time phasing, we also got a lot done; and we’re tired and ready to get some sleep.

That’s while we also won’t be getting into any world news commentary again tonight, but we do need to catch up soon; so expect a rant that I really need to offer soon; since our world leaders might just be getting even dumber every day.  Okay, that isn’t fair – they’re all just getting worse and worse as they choose power and wealth over doing what is right for the people of the world.

It is time to stop now before I really get started, so stay tuned for that upcoming rant; and we’ll go and get some sleep now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - December 28, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 13th Birthday, Seth Green!

We only had time to deliver gifts to Seth because of our own family Christmas plans, but then Seth wasn’t trying to have a party anyway and was helping with family farm and greenhouses work for most of today anyway.

As for our day-so-far, we started the day with Tai Chi by the river; the entire family and our weekend guests went to the Inn for the breakfast buffet; we followed that up with some shopping that was different for the guys and girls; and then we really got started on the holiday fun with our family and friends.  Ethan and I spent some time together and with Naomi and Aiden, but we also split up for parts of the afternoon – including the family Christmas dinners that were held at three different homes.  Aiden was with me at home – along with most of the Proctor-Rice clan and other friends while Ethan was with Naomi and the Ayres-hosted meal.  There have been Christmas gifts to open; football games to watch; video gaming to witness or join in on; and some outdoor play time and biking because the high today reached the mid-fifties.  That has all added up to a busy and amazing afternoon; and now Ethan and I are getting ready to split up for the night because he and Aiden are hosting a guys’ night here while Naomi and I will be at the Ayres’ home for the girls’ night that Leah is hosting.

Since we won’t be together for the rest of the day; that’s all we have for this report.  While we get back to enjoying the Christmassy adventures; enjoy your own day and adventures – whenever that is happening in our near or distant future!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - December 27, 2024

Naomi, Ethan, Ehlana and Aiden:

Yes, I’m taking over this report for my best friends; and that is totally to keep it short so that we can get back to more-important activities – like co-ed cuddling with my boyfriend!

The family and teen night adventures last night were terrific; we stayed up too-late; and loved pretty much every minute of the fun.  Eli and Zack were among the ‘cousins’ with us for dinner, but they were actually pretty good, and then when they weren’t later last night; that was at Zack’s house and not a problem for us!  It stayed surprisingly-warm overnight; so we took Tai Chi outdoors and by the river this morning; breakfast was a major event with all of the teens and some grandparents and parents; and then we had a few chores to do before being set free for the day to mostly help out with kid control while the parents and grandparents were busy with work or other plans.  We also had incoming guests all day and into the evening, and my future parent-in-laws have weekend guests too, but the family dinners today were spread out around town; and we had one of the smallest dinners here.  All of the visiting cousins are elsewhere tonight too – including Jayden, but then that’s been a bit different for all of us since he stopped hanging out with Susan.  Yes, he still has the same girlfriend back at home; and that likely has everything to do with why he’ll head home with his parents on Sunday instead of staying here with Jaimie and Kaitlyn.

Moving along with this not-so-short update, the weather stayed mild and around fifty for most of the day, and while there were a few showers; that didn’t get in the way of our biking and park play fun.  There was a bit of teen shopping too, but that was around a snack break at the Galleria; and we didn’t actually buy very much – or nothing for the boys currently in this room.  While I have control of their journal, though, let me mention that Ethan and Ehlana are both very talented when it comes to choosing gifts for their best friends, and while that doesn’t have anything to do with why Ethan is my match and Ehlana is my best friend; it is a really great bonus!  We were the only teens or kids in this house for dinner, and some of the parents and grandparents were at other homes for the meal; we had fun and like getting the quieter visits with favorite adults when that happens.  Ehlana and I are also grateful that our boyfriends are not football fanatics, and while we spent a little time in the living room tonight while college football was on the television; we didn’t visit for long before coming up to the lounge to play some music, watch movies, and enjoy some quality co-ed cuddling.  We do keep up with the scores and details for football and other sports as needed to fit in with our friends, but then we do that for all of the ‘normal’ teen information.

We don’t need to get into that or anything else tonight, and I’ve already written more than planned; so that’s all for tonight and we’re out of here and going back to focusing on what is really important – being together and cuddling with our favorite cuddle buddies!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
