Ethan and Ehlana:
It’s Good Friday, and as usual; we feel the conflict that comes with a solemn holiday and a long weekend that is also filled with a lot of joy and fun with our family and friends. We had a really good night last night with a family-and-friends dinner that included welcoming our grandparents home and a play evening that got better as our aunt, uncle, and cousins joined in once they arrived too. Naomi and Aiden ended up coming home with us for a co-ed sofa sleepover; so our day ended on a high with the cuddle time, movie, and nap!
It was around freezing again this morning, so Tai Chi was indoors; we had a hot breakfast; got ready for church; and then the Good Friday service was as solemn as it always should be. The rest of our morning was quiet too; Ehlana and I were at family lunches with Aiden and Naomi respectively – a definite change for us; and then we’ve had a play afternoon since then with a lot of outdoor time with cousins and friends that included biking, park play time, and a short canoe ride. it warmed up into the sixties, so that has been pretty good if not great; and now we’re taking a break ahead of a family dinner and the cousins-and-friends’ play night and sleepover that Mom and Dad are hosting.
We’ll be too-busy for the rest of the day, so this early update will have to do for today; and we’ll cover the rest of the story tomorrow night – again! Stay tuned for that while we move on and live the adventures.
