Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - December 24, 2019

Merry Christmas Eve Day!

Ethan:

We did chores this morning; shopped – including the stop at the Olde Bakery for the Santa and reindeer approved treats; and then we got to have yet another outdoor play afternoon with our friends at the park and on the trails – after a pizzeria pizza lunch.  Mom and Dad were busy with a Christmas luncheon at the Inn for Dad’s office that included some clients and other guests, but then he has the rest of the week off – mostly; so they even joined us for some of the biking with Cassie, Michael, and May too.  That was all fun; we had a snack dinner before getting ready for the Christmas Eve church service; and then that hour or so of celebrating the reason for the season was awesome.  Jessica, Patrick, and Ryan had the musical contribution of the night that everyone loved the most; and Pastor John’s version of his mother’s now-annual Christmas story was as heart-warming as always.

It is Christmas Eve, and Santa will be coming soon, so I need to wrap this up; since I definitely don’t want to mess up at the last moment after having a pretty good year! ;^)

Ethan – out!

Ehlana:

That last comment has me wondering whether Santa will visit Gwyneth; since she has definitely been naughty all year, but it’s Christmas; and we do hope that she will somehow find her way to the Light before it is too late.

We are going to bed soon, and I feel as though I should write up something special for Christmas Eve, but I don’t really have anything to ad to Ethan’s report.  We’ve had another awesome, Christmassy day; the family and friends time has been wonderful; and we can feel all of the love and joy around us – including from our neighbors.

That, by the way, isn’t just fanciful thoughts – we really do feel that empathic love and happiness; and that seems to get better and stronger every year as we collectively prosper and share our good fortune with others.

I don’t want to be caught up and awake when Santa gets here either, though, and don’t need to get into any long commentary on economics or how our family business helps here at home as well as around the world; so I’ll do the Christmas music picks; and then put my toys away and get some sleep.  The first song is my pick for the reason for the season; while the second is another chance to tease Ethan and Naomi; since my best friend may have spent some time today making sure that she had some bonus mistletoe opportunities with Ethan that gets him razzed by the other guys – even though he doesn’t actually mind those happy moments with her!

This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live from what is now my past!
