Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - September 12, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Let’s begin this update with weather news from the gulf coast; since we helped with some of the family business and charity efforts that are happening to help people in need that have been affected by Hurricane Francine.  We’re not interested in the news side of natural disasters, but while this hurricane wasn’t high on the worst-ever list, that doesn’t matter to the people that have been hurt or are dealing with storm damage; and we want to help as many of them as possible.  We can also add that some supplies were already moved into the region ahead of time; so getting help where needed can happen faster – and already is happening.

As for our day here at home, it has been sunny and hit the mid-eighties, but other than some extra outdoor time at school; we didn’t get to enjoy a lot of the warm while busy with our academic adventures; work-play at the lab or archives; and then game night at the Inn.  Mom and Dad time included Tai Chi by the river, breakfast, and dinner; all of that was awesome; and we only added in a bit of family business work that was mostly about that storm-relief charity aid.  The gaming at the Inn was definitely our entertainment highlight, and while there weren’t any championships for our family; Ethan didn’t seem to mind – and Naomi might want to adjust her gaming strategy; since her hugs and kisses with my brother had everything to do with his happiness and lack of focus on the actual games!

That could be why Jacob never wins game night titles either, but in his case, he’s the one distracting Miranda with hugs and kisses, so if they’ve never figured that out; then they are probably happier with the status quo!  That isn’t a thought that their kids or grandkids want to have either now or whenever they read our journals in the future; so let’s move on and wrap this up.

There actually isn’t really anything we need to add for today.  We’ve kept busy; managed to get a fair bit of work done even with the game night fun break; and now we’re ready to get some down time ahead of another football Friday.  This will be our first home game; the weather is looking good; and we are looking forward to watching that game with extra hometown support – including from some of our family.  Those details might need to wait for a Saturday update, since we’ll likely do an early update before the game tomorrow, but that won’t be a time problem for our future journal readers; so we’ll continue to write our updates whenever that works for us.  It is obviously time for us to move on to nap time; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
