Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - March 10, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 23rd Birthday, Martin Rice!

Happy 7th Birthday, Marcus Malloy!

Our top news of the day isn’t birthday-exciting – we spent some of our day shoveling snow before and after school at several homes.  Yes, we did that with some cousins or friends, and mixed in some snow play too; so our outdoor adventures weren’t all work and no fun.  We also had some snow play at school during lunch break even though the two inches of snow that fell today wasn’t really enough for any serious sledding on the ridge.  Some of the kids did try to play on the hills, but we didn’t even bother going over there after getting the work done.

That choice was mostly because we didn’t have a lot of time between the work and dinnertime; and then we also had game night at the Inn too; so we definitely didn’t want to be late for that meal.  The fun and games with our family and friends this evening was the entertainment highlight of our day; and then we wrapped up our day with some work and a Magi lesson in the office after getting home again.  Bath or Jacuzzi time was necessary after the work and snow adventures; and now we’re tired and ready to wrap up our twin chat and bedtime computing; call it a day; and get some sleep.

Before we do that, let’s also mention that we had a breakfast birthday chat with Marcus, but not with Martin; we sent family gifts to each of them; and that’s all we had to do with their special days.  We also want to include a quick Covid-19 update – even though that suddenly isn’t news at all compared to Ukraine.  Victory over the pandemic isn’t actually happening – except for growing understanding that Covid is now endemic; and we all need to learn to live with it.  In reality, though, some countries are dealing with huge outbreaks; and the world total new cases have bottomed out and are on the rise again.  The current waves are toughest in Asia right now, but there are new increases in some European countries; and that wave is sure to continue to wrap around the world – just as it has over the past two years.  Less than three months ago, a million new cases a day shocked a lot of people; and now it isn’t even noticed that the worldwide lows didn’t drop below a million.  There is better news surrounding Covid as treatments and recovery outcomes improve, but the varied costs that go along with millions of sick people continue to be a major problem that world leaders shouldn’t just ignore now that they have a new round of crises to play with!

On that war front, there wasn’t any good news today.  More sanctions are being piled on Russia – and potentially anyone that ‘helps’ them; anti-Russian social problems are becoming rampant in many ‘western’ countries; and Russia is potentially getting serious about hitting back with their own economic retaliations that could include restricting sales of their most-needed commodities and nationalizing or seizing foreign-owned businesses and assets – just as the western countries have been doing to Russian businesses and wealthy Russian citizens.  Escalations on both sides are not helping to resolve the issues; and the Ukrainian and Russian people continue to bear the worst of the consequences from the ‘real’ and ‘economic’ warfare.

That’s enough for now, but we’ll continue to hope for better; and maybe someone will step up and lead us away from the brink of stupidity and back toward peace for everyone.  We might not have many people believe in that actually happening right now, and we lean toward agreeing with the majority, but that doesn’t mean that we should all give up on hope either; so we’ll keep on hoping and praying for the best – even if we need to do that all the way through until we finally see the Ascension of the Light – when we will definitely be able to enjoy a world filled with more love and happiness instead of hate and despair.

Let’s move on to happy dreams – starting right now!

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
