Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - October 27, 2026

Ehlana and Ethan:

This has been another busy day and we’re getting tired; so let’s make this a quick report – if I can manage to do that without getting into any rants!  We didn’t get the forecast showers today, so that worked out for us, and while it was cloudy for most of the day and only warmed into the low-seventies; that was still good-enough for our outdoor practices.  My cheer squad practice was at noon – as usual for Tuesdays; the football and concert band practices went well after school; and then we had dinner and a study break with our best friends ahead of the marching band practice.  That practice was great – and a fair bit of work; since we picked up our orders for the food boxes and then delivered them after the practice – or most of them; since a few will wait for tomorrow morning and Mom will handle them for us.  That’s why we didn’t get home until after ten o’clock, so after a short visit with Dad in the office; bath or Jacuzzi time was next on our to-do list.  Now we’re clean and warm and ready to get some sleep; so let’s move on from our news and wrap this up.

Cassie and Michael are still in Rwanda and had a long, busy work day.  They made a lot of progress with all of their meetings and site visits; and they’ll move on tomorrow.  Uganda is up next on their travel itinerary; and they’ll continue to drive and work their way across Uganda on their way to Kenya.

As for the world news of the day; the elections in Israel are at the top of the cycle; and it might be another day or two before we know for sure what will happen and which parties will win.  As of right now, neither of the leading political blocs have earned a majority of seats; so a deal will need to be made to form a minority government.  We won’t try to guess at what will happen – though we will hope that the uncertainty will at least delay any plans to re-start the hot war with Iran.  Yes, that might also be used as an excuse to use war as a way to keep power, but let’s try to hope for better.  There is a bit of political news from Brazil too, and it appears as though the opposition candidate fled Brazil for the United States – just as his father had needed to do after the last election in Brazil that had ended his rule of the country.  They both have reason to leave; since their family had put the current leader in prison in the past; so there is definitely a grudge between them!

This is already longer than we wanted, but should at least mention that the Ukraine war is still going badly.  There was, apparently, phone talks that Norway and Denmark leaders held with Russia, but not much revealed about what was discussed or whether that could be a start to actual negotiations instead of more threats.  That call was a first in years; so we’ll hope for better with that too – for now.

That’s enough for tonight.  We really do need the sleep; so we are out of here and off to dreamland soon.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
