Ehlana and Ethan:
Cassie and Michael are in Rwanda tonight; long preparation kept them from having any issues at the border; and their work continues with changes tailored to projects and programs and partnerships that were needed most by the people of Rwanda. The change in country did not change the weather for them; and the mix of sunshine, heat, and rain every day continued for them today – and is in the forecast for their entire visit to the country.
Here at home, our day was fairly-quiet and the weather was better – if not nearly as hot. Sunshine and a high of seventy-seven worked for our football and cheer squad practices – though Tai Chi by the river was still cool. Ethan and I went home for dinner with Mom and Dad; took care of the clean-up; and then we went to the lab or archives to work-play with our books or beakers. We worked there until ten-thirty – with extra time-phased hours that added up to closer to an eight-hour shift. We got a lot done; I’m making progress with my cancer cures; and Ethan is busy with various training programs he’s putting together. After getting home, we did a quick visit with Mom and Dad; bath or Jacuzzi time was fairly-quick; and now we’re wrapping up the computer checks and twin chat fun.
More war was among the top news of the day with reports about Pentagon planning for a ‘major war’ and ongoing threats made against Iran and the Houthis – especially from President Trump and Israeli leaders. The insanity can’t be hidden – even if it is ignored; so the dangers to the world remain high – both for the potential added death and destruction and more damage to the world economy. The Middle East is still a tinder-box; and it could blow up at any moment.
As for the Ukraine war, nothing has changed beyond more destruction, more deaths, more injuries, and more desperation for the people stuck in the middle of the fighting and airstrikes. Nobody can predict when the breaking point will be reached, but it is coming, and when it happens; we can only hope that a deal will be made regardless of how bad for Ukraine and Europe instead of more bad choices that would only escalate the war beyond the Ukraine and Russia borders. It’s getting a bit repetitive to write the same bad news so often, and we aren’t directly affected by those wars, but that’s part of the problem for most people of the world; and that truth doesn’t keep us from caring about what is happening to so many of our fellow humans and we will join in to help when and where we can. For right now, we can do that by recharging and getting some sleep; so that’s all for this update.
