Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - September 12, 2025

Ethan, Naomi, Ehlana, and Aiden:

Before we get into our news of the day, we want to mention that the shooter who assassinated Charlie Kirk has been arrested; and we’re mentioning that story tonight because members of his own family were involved in turning him in and getting him to surrender peacefully; and that must have been a very difficult choice and situation for them – especially when they must know what the man’s actions will mean for them.  We aren’t going to go into any other details tonight; and hope that this horrific attack won’t lead to any other violence – especially when Charlie Kirk would be among the first to declare that violence is not the answer to resolving disagreements.

Compared to that story – or most of the other world news; our day has been normal.  The weather has been awesome with lots of sun and a high in the nineties.  That led to bonus outdoor time at school, but then Tai Chi by the river is much nicer when the morning low isn’t chilly; while it was a bit on the warm side for the bus ride to Sweetwater Ponds.  The girls didn’t have that problem for their drive time, but we – the guys – spent some time joking about home team advantages on hot days when the visiting team spends an hour and a half in a sauna ahead of game time!  That didn’t keep us from winning the game tonight, but maybe we were affected, since Sweetwater Ponds did earn seventeen points and two touchdowns against our defense tonight.  The good news for us is that we had seven touchdowns and a field goal for fifty-two points.  Yes, our defense had issues, but we had a lot of good moments too; and we eventually had the advantage of Sweetwater Ponds attempting to get back into the game by skipping field goal attempts in favor of trying to make first downs or touchdowns in the second half.  Ehlana and Naomi want me to report that I had three touchdowns and Aiden and Aaron had two each for all of our seven touchdowns.  I had two defensive interceptions and quite a few broken plays at safety, but I’d rather give most of that credit to our defensive line; since they rushed the Sweetwater Ponds quarterback and that led to bad passes.  While we’re happy with our game play tonight, Aiden and I have mixed feelings about how popular our girlfriends are with all of the teen guys at the game – even as we can’t blame them for being amazed by them.  There are entertaining moments that go along with having amazing girlfriends; and we’re all amused when certain guys just can’t comprehend why our favorite girls don’t get overwhelmed by the awesomeness of those guys with the highest opinions of themselves!

Not all of our away games will be so far away, but it has made for a long day and it was past-midnight before we even got home from the school.  Sophia and Aaron opted to do their own thing tonight instead of hanging out with us, but then we’re not surprised by that; since while they really are part of a group of six friends now; the co-ed sleepovers are a bit different for them compared to the twin dynamic that Ehlana and I share with Naomi and Aiden.  We could have split up for the rest of tonight too, but we’ll save up those moments for another night when we’re not all tired out and more-interested in some quality co-ed nap time.

Naomi wants me to wrap this up and focus on the cuddle time ahead of getting that sleep, so that’s all I have for this report.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
