Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - February 8, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 21st Birthday, Cassie!

We’ve really missed getting to share Cassie’s birthday with her, but we are down to just one more birthday away from home after today; so that at least feels as though we’re getting closer to having Cassie and Michael home again to stay.  As for today, our birthday fun with Cassie happened while we all had breakfast and a long video chat.  Reaching the legal age for drinking isn’t a big deal for Cassie, and she won’t be partying all night after she’s finished her classes when she’ll have even more work to do after finishing up with her in-class T.A. duties.  That really doesn’t sound like fun at all, but anyone that knows Cassie will be sure that she’ll have fun anyway; and we won’t comment on the most-likely ways that Michael will help her out with having a happy day that won’t include birthday meals with their friends or cameo moments of entertainment.

Our day wasn’t birthday-rated fun, but we have had more fun than Cassie has managed – at least so far today.  The weather continues to be awesome; the high was around sixty this afternoon; and we loved another play afternoon with our friends that included biking and exploring at the park and around town.  We also had extra outdoor time at school that worked for us; and then our evening has been very similar to last night with Mom and Dad.  The easy dinner and clean-up was followed by work and a Magi lesson in the office; bath or Jacuzzi time; and a music practice.  We’ve loved everything we’ve been doing whether working or playing, and while that strongly suggests that we more than resemble our parents and big sister; it actually is okay to be happy and have fun with the more-serious parts of our lives.

We don’t want to get into anything serious on Cassie’s birthday, so that’s all for this report; and we’re out of here and ready to get some sleep soon.

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
