Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - October 23, 2021

Ethan and Ehlana:

Our school week wrapped up with a lot of fun!  The biking with our friends and cousins kept us busy until we needed to be home for our family-and-friends fun night.  The pot-luck dinner was great – even with Zack and Eli being in fine form and having a bit too-much fun; and then we had a blast with pumpkin carving and other Halloween-themed crafting that kept us busy until Dad got home from the city.  The movie part of our entertainment followed the clean-up from our pumpkins and the rest of the mess; the adults and girls watched the show; and most of the boys played video games in the lounge.  The Moms resisted the urge to watch the first Hallmark Christmas movie of the season, but we’ll catch up on it eventually.  Our guests headed for their homes after the movie; and we stayed up too-late with Naomi and Aiden while cuddling and watching another Halloween movie before eventually getting to our co-ed sofa sleepover.

Today began with a chilly Tai Chi workout for six by the river and a full country breakfast; and then we spent the entire day on our final fall clean-up chores and decorating the house for Halloween – though we kept that small this year with just some decorations on and around the front porch and sidewalk.  W won’t bore you with the chores details, but we got a lot of work done at three homes; and earned bonus points from the Drapers and Seagers for our help.

We’ve been at home with just Mom and Dad since wrapping up our work; dinner was an easy-meal and clean-up; and we did some work in the office before watching one of the Hallmark Christmas movies that were on tonight.  Yes, it feels too-early to do that before Halloween, but the girls in our family love those Hallmark Christmas movies while Dad and I don’t really even pretend to be cool and indifferent to them.

We came up to our rooms after the movie and had a music practice; since we are down to a week to go until our ‘show’ next weekend – and Halloween night too.  That’s pretty much all we have from home, but before we head off to sleep; we should mention that Cassie and Michael are enjoying their weekend off from football.  They each still have a lot of work to do too, but Cassie, Rowen, and their girlfriends had a spa morning; and they went out on a group date tonight too after spending the afternoon studying.

Okay, that’s enough for this report, and past-time for us to be in nap mode for the rest of the night; so, until next time...
