Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - October 17, 2021

Ethan and Ehlana:

We’ve had an awesome day!

The wrap-up to our Saturday night didn’t really include anything newsworthy – unless you consider our lack of a co-ed sofa sleepover is news.  We got teased about that this morning, but that was a minor bit of semi-fun to go along with our usual Sunday morning activities and extra craziness that went along with a house full of kids and teens while we ate and took turns getting ready for church.  By the time we got to the church, some of us were ready for a break, though that’s relative at our church; since the parts of the service that the kids and teens attend is fast-moving and energetic; and then our Sunday school adventures included some outdoor time while we went on a bit of a scavenger hunt to gather what we’ll be using over the next couple of weeks for crafts.

Our personal fun level kicked up a few notches after church when a group of our favorite parents surprised us with the news of a trip to the Halloween farm.  Mom and Dad hosted one of several group lunches; we loaded up for the trip to the farm; and spent the afternoon playing games and the rest of the usual activities there – like the hay rides, corn maze, and Haunted House.  We came home in time to unload the van and truck; get cleaned up; and then head over to the Inn for the early buffet.  Not everyone in our farm group joined us for the early buffet, but Dad still had work to get done ahead of his trip in the morning; so we didn’t wait for the late buffet.  The food and public dining was a great way to wrap up the ‘fun’ parts of our day; and then we came home again to get started on the work and chores.

For us, that work included helping Mom with getting all of the guest rooms and bathrooms cleaned; loads of laundry; and a bit of family business work.  Mom did a Magi lesson with us too that we multi-tasked with the chores; we eventually got around to some quality bath or Jacuzzi time; and we just wrapped up a short music practice that was all about working on a couple of the songs that we’ll be doing with Naomi and the Phantoms.  That brings us up-to-date on our ongoing adventures, and we should get to sleep soon, so we’ll do that now; and, until next time...
