Cassie's Journal - September 8, 2017

It’s late, and Michael and I need to work the breakfast shift; so this is going to be a micro-update.

We’ve had an awesome weather day; temperatures climbed to around ninety; and that led to a perfect night for football!  Tai Chi by the river was good too; I had a fun school day; and then we had a lot of hurry up and wait action after school as we got ready for the trip to Brookbridge; drove out there – or went on the bus, for the football players; and then had to rush around to get set up for the game and have dinner before the gates opened and the bleachers began to fill with the Brookbridge faithful.  We had a few friends and family supporters too, but after two home games; we didn’t have a major turn-out.

We won the game fifty-to-nine; so I’m not going to say much about it because it was a tough night for the Brookbridge players.  Michael and Tim were amazing again tonight; Michael had three touchdowns; Tim had two; we coasted through the second-half with five field goals; and we only gave up three field goals.  Michael and Tim shut down Brookbridge’s passing game while on defense; and they could’ve done much better if they hadn’t pulled back again tonight.

We were in Brookbridge for quite a while after the game; Rowen and I helped out at our school until Michael and Tim were done; and it was past-one by the time Michael walked me home.  Even though he had a comparatively-easy game, Michael was still hurting a bit by the time we got to my house; so I helped him out with that; we had a bit of quiet cuddle time; and then he went home at two instead of staying for a sofa sleepover.

I probably should have just skipped the bedtime computing and this update in favor of the bonus cuddle time with Michael, but I wanted to do the email check in case there was anything I needed to deal with for the family business heading into the weekend – particularly anything hurricane-related.  There were a couple of things to deal with; so I’m glad I didn’t leave that until tomorrow.

It does mean that I now have less time to sleep; so I really need to nap now and then get to work in what’ll feel like a couple of hours of down time.  We’re going to have a busy work day between shifts at the Inn and chores work at home; so the fun level is going to drop from football victory excitement.  I’m actually okay with that; and hope things won’t be too exciting around the Inn.  Everyone there is ready to have a bit of a break from the too-busy – especially when we will be busier again as Miranda and Stephanie bring in more business for both the guest rooms and for restaurant customers.

Okay, I’m rambling, and need to crash now; so, until next time...

...May the Magi Force be with you!
