Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - April 26, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 4th Birthday, Bryn Jennings!

We’re glad that Bryn got to have a nice-weather day for her birthday – though that was still only a mid-sixties high.  Our involvement in her special day was only through delivering a family gift; so her family and friends took care of making her day great.

As for our adventures, we had a good day at school after Tai Chi by the river and a standard school day breakfast; and then we opted for the biking and play time with our friends after school.  Naomi convinced us to do that instead of another play-work visit to the lab; so we did what we were told!  We had fun out on the trails and at the park; our snack break included Emporium treats; and we were home in time to help Mom with making dinner-for-four.  That was ready by the time Dad got home from the office; we enjoyed that meal out in the sunroom; and then our evening has included a Magi lesson, more charity work, and bath or Jacuzzi time.  That brings us up to now, and we don’t have anything to add; so we’ll move on and finish up the rest of our bedtime computing and twin chat time; and then go get some sleep.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - April 25, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 19th Birthday, Jessica Bassett!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Donald Reynolds!

We got in on a breakfast vid-chat with Jessica because Cassie and Rowen did a birthday breakfast for her; so that was part of a fun start to our day.  Birthday-level fun can’t be something we can claim for the rest of our day, but we’ve had a busy, productive day; so we’re happy as we’re writing this and getting ready for nap time.

Our academic adventures included some outdoor time; we played at the lab or archives after school; and got home in time for a late dinner with Mom and Dad.  That food break was really just a transition to the office work we did tonight with family business and charity work.  Thanks to some time-phasing, we got a lot done; and we helped a lot of people – or will be helping them over the next few weeks and months.

Not having as much play-fun was a fair trade-off for everything we did get done today; and this is a good time to do more work before Cassie and Michael get home.  While we’re thinking about that, we should mention that Cassie and Michael’s house is filling up with deliveries of furniture and more.  Mom is coordinating all of that, and while we won’t be setting up very many things; we will be busy helping out once our favorite collegians are home to stay.  There are already lots of stories related to the new house, but we’re going to save them up for after Cassie and Michael are home – mostly because that’s what everyone else wants to do too so that they can use those stories and jokes on them.  Okay, we’ll give you one example – Brianna might be planning on pretending that she’s moved into their house ahead of their return home – and she’s just one example of people that love the house a lot!

That’s enough for tonight.  We need to get some sleep; so stay tuned for our next report; and we’ll move on to nap time now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - April 24, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

It was still chilly this morning, so Tai Chi was indoors.  We followed that workout with a standard school-day breakfast; and then our academic adventures included some afternoon outdoor time as it warmed into the mid-sixties.  That was all fun; and then we moved on to biking and park play time with our friends until shortly-before dinnertime.  We biked part of the way to Quarry Lake as part of that fun, but didn’t try to do the round-trip this time.  Dinner with Mom and Dad was a quick break; we took care of the clean-up; and then headed over to the lab or archives to play there for a few hours.  That was a highlight of our day.  We got a lot done; that felt great after the play time that isn’t important by comparison; and now we’re winding down toward nap time after coming home; doing a Magi lesson with Mom; and getting cleaned up with bath or Jacuzzi time.

That’s pretty much it for today, and we really are ready to get some sleep; so we’ll wrap this up; and go do that now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - April 23, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 1st Birthday, Stuart Stone!

That’s our top news of the day, and we were involved in Stuart’s special day because we were at the late buffet birthday dinner party and helped out with the kids.  The youngest toddlers were a handful; so the parents needed the help!  We had a lot of fun too, and the party was a huge success; so it was worth being this tired as we’re winding down toward the end of our day.

As for the rest of our adventures, it was cold this morning, so Tai Chi was indoors again.  Dad cooked up eggs and bacon and sides for breakfast; and then we had a busy morning at church and Sunday school that included our first blast of birthday fun with the Stone-Bassett clan.  Since it wasn’t that warm this afternoon, Ehlana and I opted to play at the lab or archives after lunch.  Mom and Dad were working in the office anyway, so that worked for all of us; and we got home in time to get ready for the dinner party – and our dates with Naomi and Aiden.  That was actually official; and entirely because Naomi decided to take advantage of the chance for a ‘real’ date for all of us.  Ehlana isn’t sure that we should count going out and basically babysitting kids for a couple of hours should count as a date night, but we’ll go with it because we love Naomi a lot! ;^)

Moving along, we didn’t get home again until after-nine; Mom did a Magi lesson with us; we took Silkie for a bedtime walk; and we just wrapped up bath or Jacuzzi time.  We’ve had a really good day, and as we head into the last week of April; we’re feeling great!  We’re down to about three weeks before Cassie and Michael will be home to stay; we’re going to get busier while helping to get ready for that; and then we expect life to get even better from there – including what we’ll hope will be a best-ever-so-far summer.  Stay tuned, but that’s all we have for tonight; and it is time for us to wrap this up and get some sleep now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - April 22, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

We had a blast last night with everything we did from the after-school biking through the pot-luck dinner and movie fun with our family and friends.  Dad got home fairly-early – in time for the movie; and our co-ed sofa sleepover with Naomi and Aiden was definitely a highlight of our day!

Compared to all of that, we’ve had a quiet Saturday.  It was cold this morning, so Tai Chi was indoors.  We had a hot breakfast; moved on to chores at three homes including some outdoor work even though it didn’t warm up very much today.  We worked until a bit after one; Mom fed us the late lunch; and then our afternoon fun was indoors and quiet with some band play time and a movie and cuddle time in the lounge.  Naomi and Aiden went home or to the bakery by late-afternoon; we helped Mom with making dinner; and our evening hasn’t been eventful either.  We did a Magi lesson with Mom; a bit of charity work on our computers; and then it was bath or Jacuzzi time ahead of an early bedtime that we’re ready to get to now.

That’s all we have for today too; so we’ll just call it a night and get to the nap time.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
