Ehlana and Ethan:

 

Congratulations Violet and Dillon – you’re pregnant!

 

That’s our top family news of the day – and helped to make our family-and-friends’ dinner-and-a-movie night very entertaining!  Violet and Dillon are getting teased about joining Jake and Stephanie for both the expecting parents and new homeowners clubs, but we’re all very happy too; and they love the idea of having their kids being near the same age as they grow up.

 

While that news was the highlight of our day, we had a lot of fun last night with our sleepover; and we’re doing a camping night by the river tonight with both cousins and best friends.  The highlights from last night were the group Magi lesson with Mom, the music jam session, and the co-ed sofa sleepover.  Our ‘home’ schooling today was pretty good; we finished up early; and set up tents for the camping before going to the park to ride the trails for an hour or so.  Mom had us home early to help with making dinner; that was something of a party to celebrate Violet and Dillon’s news; and then some of us watched the movie in the living room while Zack and Eli led a gaming session in the lounge.

 

We’re writing this while getting ready for our camping night; and plan on watching more movies in our tents on iPads or tablets.  There will not be co-ed camping because we’ll have younger cousins and friends in boys’ and girls’ tents, but we’ll have fun anyway – and one of us is okay with having the boys busy doing their own thing for the rest of the night – and hopefully not bugging the girls too-much while doing that. ;^)

 

It’s time to wrap this up and get on with that camping now; so we’ll do that – and probably not get enough sleep to be ready for the fall chores day we have booked for tomorrow.

Ehlana and Ethan:

 

We had a good school day; played at the lab or archives after that; and now we’re transitioning to an evening that is going to include a sleepover with Naomi and Aiden.  The best fun for our day is still ahead of us, and that’s why we’re going to keep this short; put our computers away for the night; and enjoy the quiet adventures we have planned for the rest of the night!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - September 23, 2020

 

Ehlana and Ethan:

 

Best intentions didn’t get us a more-exciting day to write about tonight! ;^)

 

Mom had the extra cousins and kids here today for our home school day; that kept us busy; and it took a bit longer to get all of our online lessons and then the assignments finished thanks to delays at break and lunch time.  We still had time for after-school biking and park play with our friends – and a few of our cousins; and then it has been a quiet evening around the house since then.  We had an easy dinner with Mom and Dad; studied or worked in the office; followed our Magi lesson with a music practice; and just finished up with bath or Jacuzzi time before getting to our bedtime chat and journal-writing daily wrap-up.

 

The confirmed cases for coronavirus passed thirty-two million today, but with a million new cases every three-and-a-half days or so; the numbers really are becoming numbing to most people – or just irrelevant.  That certainly isn’t true for anyone personally affected by the virus; so we’ll continue to work on the problem – and hope that the progress being made with treatments and in creating an effective vaccine will help to improve outcomes for the patients and eventually lead to an end of the pandemic.

 

For now, that’s all we have, and tomorrow is an at-school day; so we need to wrap this up and go get some sleep.

Ehlana and Ethan:

 

We’ve had a good day at school; played at the lab or archives until we came home late for dinner; and then it has been a quiet study or work night here at home since then.  There has been lots of fun to go along with all of that, but nothing newsworthy to write about tonight, and we’re tired, so we’ll keep this short; and go get some sleep.

 

Flip the digital page whenever you’re reading this in our future, and by the time we get around to our next update; we’ll try to have something exciting happen in our lives that will be interesting-enough to report! ;^)

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - September 21, 2020

 

Ehlana and Ethan:

 

Our ‘home’ day didn’t include a large gang of cousins and younger kids today because other parents and grandparents were helping out with that today; so we had a quieter day; and got our work done early.  We went biking and played at the park after that because it was a nice day and we had some lab time yesterday; and then we wrapped up our afternoon with some music fun that Naomi and Aiden did with us before they headed to their homes for dinner.  Since then, we had a quiet dinner with Mom and Dad; studied or worked in the office for a couple of hours plus some time-phased time that was limited because that doesn’t work when Dad needs internet time for his research or anything else we do that reaches networks beyond our house.

 

We didn’t have another music practice tonight, but it’s been a long day; and we’re ready to call it a night and get some sleep.  The only news we’ll add before wrapping this up is from school; and that’s only a minor announcement that the current plan will continue through October without changes – as long as we continue to stay coronavirus-free.  That isn’t something we want to accidentally jinx our town about; so we won’t comment on our luck so far. ;^)

 

Okay, that’s all for tonight; we need to get some sleep; and are out of here.
