Cassie's Journal - February 23, 2018

We’ve had a cold day with some rain and a bit of wet snow and rain tonight; I had a good day at school; and then Michael and I worked the dinner-to-close shift at the Inn.  I’m home to grab a shower and an overnight bag; and then I’m going to Michael’s for a sofa sleepover that won’t be by accident at all! ;^)

I’d write more, but some make-out time with Michael before we get around to sleeping will be more fun that playing with my computer at all; so, until next time...

Some kids get all the luck when it comes to winter snow days, but that didn’t include us today!

That’s right, Mother Nature seemed to mostly skip us for the bad weather; we only had a few sprinkles of rain here and there; a handful of snowflakes; and a normal school day.

I’m not complaining – honest!  My point for commenting on that is simply to note that we had a completely-uneventful day around here – even though extreme weather is going on over a large section of the country.  No, we are not playing around with the weather, and it would be awesome if we could; but even Magi Masters don’t mess with Mother Nature on that kind of scale!

Since we didn’t get the day off, we had a normal school day; I came home after that while Michael went to work at the Inn; I did some family business work before helping Mom with cooking dinner and cleaning up after that meal; and then Michael and I had a normal Thursday night here while Mom, Dad, and the twins were at the Inn for game night.

Highlight of the day?  The Michael and me make-out time, of course! ;^)

There was also some studying, a music practice, and Magi lesson with Mom, and a bedtime chat with the twins before Michael went home.  I’ve been working from bed pretty much all of the time since then; and now it’s really late and I need to crash and nap for a couple of hours.

We still have one more school day to get through, but we do have some bonus entertainment this weekend with the festival in Maple Valley; and I’ll be doing that with Michael and my family because it’ll be one more ‘last chance’ bit of fun that I won’t get to do with them for at least another five years.

I wonder how many cases of maple syrup I’d need to last that long?  With Michael and Tim at college with us; I’ll guess it would be more than we’d want to start storing now, but the fact that I’m rambling on about maple syrup should be all you need to know about how tired I am right now.  Napping is an option, though; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - February 21, 2018

It was cold this morning, but we had a break from the snow and ice for most of the day; and pretty much have everything cleaned up already – just in time for a bit more of the wet-frozen mix that we’ll get overnight and into the morning.  That could result in a snow day from school; but I’ll let you know how that goes with the next update.  For today, we had fun at school; we were able to have our mid-week work night – which was working at home for me; and I have all of my work done already; and will be going to bed shortly after I finish having my soak in the Jacuzzi.

I’ll be wrapping that up soon, and that’s all I have for this update; so I’m going to get on with that last bit of my day before starting my long winter’s nap right now!

Until next time...

Cassie's Journal - February 20, 2018

The weird weather continued today; and we’ve had to deal with rain, freezing rain, and snow off and on all day while the temperature moved above and below freezing by just-enough to make the precipitation unpredictable.  One thing that the weather did do was change up after school plans.  Band practice was cancelled; so I brought Michael home with me to do our homework and stay for dinner.  We also shoveled snow at our houses – there wasn’t enough to bother getting the lawn tractor and snow-blower out; and we used ice salt to deal with the underlying slippery that had come ahead of the snow.  Teen praise team practice got canceled too; but we may re-book that since we are getting ready for Easter and need every practice to be our best for that sunrise service and the rest of our contributions for that weekend.

Michael stayed for a while after dinner, but he wouldn’t let me keep him for too long; and insisted that I get started on my bedtime computing early.  I did that in the office with Mom and Dad after he left; the twins studied too; and I used a time phase so we could all get a lot of work done.  That’s why I’m ready for bed so early and writing this before midnight.  The extra sleep will be great; and that’ll make the rest of the week easier for me too.  That may not add up to what sounds like a fun day, but we did have a good day; and there was fun mixed in here and there with the classes, studying, and work – including what has been some rare snow-play time for us this winter.

Oh, and for the record – Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, Sophia, and Aiden did not win that snowball fight against Michael and me! ;^)

Okay, that’s it; I have to stop, drop, and nap now; so, until next time...

Happy 22nd Birthday, Christina!
Happy 17th Birthday, Kris!

Welcome to our little corner of the world – and my digital journal corner of the Magi archives!

That sounds weird; but that perfectly describes our day around here!

When we got up for the day; we were able to go outside for Tai Chi because it had warmed up to an unbelievable mid-seventies temperature.  That sounds great for mid-February; and it was – right up until the rain started and the temperature plunged to near-freezing by lunchtime!  The rain has kept falling – except for when we got some snow while the temperature dipped below freezing and it was too-cold to rain.  A lot more rain is happening and on the way; the temperature is going to bounce around some more; and you just have to watch the show and be awed by Mother Nature’s display of power!

I remember getting tired out just trying to whip up a water spout while playing in the tub as a little kid, but don’t worry – that was an approved lesson; and Mom supervised to make sure that I didn’t make a mess! ;^)

Moving along, that start to our day was great; we got to school shortly-before the weather went wet and cold; and we only got rained on during the walk home to my house and then on to Michael’s.  I had dinner there; we had a normal study, music, and make-out evening; and then I came home and worked in the office with Mom and Dad for a while – including doing my Magi lesson with Mom.  Ethan and Ehlana had stayed up to study; so I had a bedtime visit with them; and then got back to work in my room once I was ready for bed and tucked in with Mandy.  I’ve been working since then; have hit my limit; and now it’s time to crash and nap.

Another rain day will be dreary, but I won’t complain; since we could have been getting a blizzard if all of this wet had arrived as snow instead.  The farmers will be happy too – though this is going to be a bit too much too fast for their liking and there is sure to be a bit of flooding here and there.

I really don’t want to do a farming report today – and there are other places in the archives for that sort of thing anyway, so I guess the only thing that I should’ve added earlier was to mention that we didn’t even talk with Christina today because she wasn’t available when we tried to call; we did have a lunchtime party for Kris; but he didn’t have a birthday party with friends this year – other than his girlfriend.  We’ve still had a good day even without much birthday-fun sort of adventures; and I’m just a bit glad that I didn’t have that to do along with everything else on my to-do list today.

Next up on that list is sleeping; I’m out of here to go and do that; and, until next time...
