Happy 19th Birthday, Martin!
Happy 3rd Birthday, Marcus!

Martin is away at college; celebrating his special day with Chris, their girlfriends, and the rest of their college buddies.  Marcus had a party with family and friends – including our family; since we came to Crystal Springs to join in on that celebration; and we’re spending the night here before heading home in the morning – though Dad will be staying for his week in the city.

I’m going to keep this update short because Michael and I are babysitting the twins in our ‘kids’ room while Mom and Dad are in Dad’s usual room down the hall; and we’re going to watch a movie before getting around to the sleeping part of our night.

So, here’s the quick version of my day.  Michael and I had a sofa sleepover last night; we worked the breakfast shift at the Inn; Mom and Dad brought the twins to the Inn and had breakfast there after dealing with some chores at home; and then we hit the road for Crystal Springs.  Miranda gave Michael the rest of the day off so he could come along; but we’ll need to be back in time for the lunch shift tomorrow.  We got to Crystal Springs by around noon; had lunch at the food court in our favorite mall; and then we picked up gifts for Marcus that Angela suggested would work with other gifts he was about to be given at his party.  We headed over to their house from the mall; spent the rest of the day there; and then headed to the hotel after dinner – and after Marcus crashed into nap mode for the night.

I’m writing this while Michael’s getting ready for bed and the twins are out of the room and saying goodnight to Mom and Dad.  They’ll be back any minute – or I might have opted to have a bit of play time with Michael; so I need to wrap this up and get back to our play day.  The details are missing, but it’s really the overall fun and happy moments with my family and our friends that is important – not the what we were doing today; and that’s what I really hope will be remembered in my journal – that regardless of what we’re doing; it’s the love and joy that really matters most!

Of course, some quality cuddle time while watching a movie is pretty good too, and I’m ready to get to that next; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - March 9, 2018

We’ve had a good day; weather in the mid-fifties; and Michael and I worked the dinner-to-close shift.  He’ll be over here for a sofa sleepover soon, but we split up to grab showers and so he could pack an overnight bag before joining me here.  There won’t be any major, teen-rated play time because we’re working the breakfast shift and then we’ll be away until Sunday with my family, but that’s news I can write about with the next couple of updates – and that you can read in my future with the usual flip of a digital page or two in the archives.

I’ll get back to the real world – and that sofa sleepover – while you do that; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - March 8, 2018

We’re back into a warming trend for a few days, but I was indoors for most of the day; and my only real news for this update is that I won’t be staying up late and working.

That’s because Michael wouldn’t come over tonight while our families were at game night; he stayed at the Inn; and asked – told – me to stay home and catch up on my work and studying when I could do that without staying up most of the night.  We will need to find time to catch up on the making out time we didn’t do tonight; but I did do as asked; stayed home; and got all of my work and studying done by the time Mom, Dad, Ethan, and Ehlana got home.

It was likely a conspiracy, but Mom didn’t do a Magi lesson with me; Ehlana tucked Mandy and me in for the night; and now I’m pretty-much ready to go off to sleep.  Since everyone went through so much trouble to make that possible for me, I really should just do that; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - March 7, 2018

Happy 34th Birthday, Uncle Adam!

I need to make this quick because Mandy and I have an extra bed buddy tonight; and Brianna is very fired-up to be here with us while her parents are getting a kid-free night.

Yes, that means that it isn’t late, and I had to skip some of my work and all of my language studies tonight; so I’ll need to do extra work tomorrow – or on the weekend.  I’ll keep you posted on that, but for now; let’s get to the news of the day.

It was cold out this morning; and barely warmed up above freezing.  I had a good morning and day at school; came home and did some of my work before heading over to Uncle Adam and Aunt Leanne’s to help with getting the dinner party set up; and then we had fun celebrating Uncle Adam’s big day.  I’m officially half his age this year, and while that still seems weird to me; I’m also just thankful to have aunts and uncles and cousins in the first place!

I helped with the dinner clean-up; came home while they party went on without me for a while longer; and got as much work finished as possible before our overnight guests came home with Mom, Dad, and the twins.  Zack is staying with Ethan in his room; and Brianna picked Mandy and me instead of Ehlana for her sleepover.  Ehlana still has Silkie; and she didn’t want to make things too crowded in my bed by joining us too.  She’s likely more interested in thinking about her work at the lab; so she didn’t have a problem with Brianna’s choice tonight.

That doesn’t really cover all of the fun from today, but there are likely better places in the archives for those birthday highlights stories.  There isn’t anything else to add to my own adventures today, though, and that is what my journal is all about; so I guess that’s it – and I can get on with having fun with Brianna – and with getting some extra, unexpected sleep!

Until next time...

Cassie's Journal - March 6, 2018

We’re back into the cold today; and it’s tougher to take after the unseasonable warm we’ve gotten to enjoy.

That’s at least partly-why I just want to keep this short and get started on my nap time – that, and the fact that I’ve had another late night and have run out of steam.

Tai Chi was back indoors this morning; we still had a hot breakfast; and then I had a pretty good day at school.  Band practice was fun; Michael came home with me for dinner; and then we had an extra-long teen praise team practice that was all about getting ready for Easter again.  Michael came home with me again so we could do our homework and a Magi lesson with Mom; he went home by midnight; and I got to work once I was tucked in for the night with Mandy.  A lot of time-phased work and studying has happened since then; and now I am pretty much wiped out.

We have a family birthday tomorrow, so I won’t get to do my work and studying as early as I’d like, but I should be able to start earlier than normal; and might be able to shoot for a midnight bedtime.

I know, but it could happen; and I’ll likely want to be napping again by then too.  That’s all I want to be doing now, and that’s all of the news for today; so, until next time...
