Cassie's Journal - October 4, 2017

We had one of those strange weather days where it cooled from a warm morning through the rest of the day; with a bit of rain here and there just to keep things damp.

My early-morning was fun, but not newsworthy; ditto that for my school day except for the fun we had with cheerleading practice at lunchtime; and then I came home had worked for the rest of the afternoon and evening doing my homework, family business job, and language studies.

Now I’m going to crash and nap for the rest of the night; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - October 3, 2017

This is going to be a terrible excuse of a double-update because I am fried and need to nap for a while before getting up and going on day three of my school week.

Mom and Dad’s anniversary began with a gift-giving wake-up call from their kids.  We followed that up with Tai Chi by the river; Michael stayed and helped with the special anniversary breakfast; and then we headed for school with Ethan and Ehlana while Mom and Dad got on with their day too.  I had a busy day at school including cheerleading practice at lunchtime; helped out with the dinner party work after school; and then Michael came over after football to join in on that anniversary celebration fun.  We babysat the twins and some cousins and friends while the parents went out to Sheldon’s for a couple of hours; most of the kids were picked up after that; and Michael and I only kept Naomi and Aiden with the twins.  We did our homework late; had some cuddle time after the kids went to sleep; and I did my family business and language studies after that while Michael had a nap.  We wrapped up our night with a sofa sleepover – though for me; that was more of a sofa nap-over.

Today, we had four kids to get ready for school; a fun day at school; and I had band practice and teen praise team practice on either side of dinner at home.  Mom and Dad did absolutely nothing at the Inn while on their hometown, five-star sleepover – that they could tell us about.  I’m glad they had fun yesterday, but it was back to work for them today; and ditto that for me.  After we got home from the church, Michael and I needed to do our homework; Mom did a Magi lesson with us; and then I had hours of work and studying to do after Michael went home.

That’s why I’m exhausted – and why I’m also out of here and heading off to nap mode; so, until next time...

Happy 7th Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

I’m babysitting while Mom and Dad are busy with a five-star sleepover at the Inn tonight; so look for the double update tomorrow.

Until next time...

Happy Belated 30th Birthday, Uncle Nick!

For the record, I did not forget his birthday – I just opted to include that news today because he was away for the weekend with that celebration; so him hometown celebration was a buffet dinner at the Inn tonight after he got home from his weekend away!

With that news out of the way, though, it’s really, really late because I’ve been doing a lot of work and studying tonight; so the rest of this report is going to be very short so that I can have my nap before it’ll be time to get up and going again.

Morning Tai Chi; breakfast at Michaels; and church were all great.  Michael and I worked the full lunch and buffet-to-close shift because Miranda ended up short a couple of servers due to illness today.  We studied on our afternoon break; were late getting out of the Inn partly due to that birthday party; and then I spent a bit of time with Michael at his house before coming home and getting to work.

That was too many hours ago, and I’m exhausted; but the work was important and I couldn’t wait until tomorrow because there’s even more work waiting for me every day all week.

Nap time is waiting for me right now; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - September 30, 2017

The last day of the month started out great – especially if you include what was technically a belated birthday make-out session for Michael before we got around to the nap of a sofa sleepover we had time for before we needed to wake and get ready for the breakfast shift at the Inn.

Some healing and self-healing was required to make up for the lack of sleep, but we were very happy campers by the time we walked to the Inn; met up with his Dad; and got to work.  We had a fairly-slow morning, but Miranda and I had fun working the dining room together; and I stayed a bit longer than needed because it gave me a chance to delay going home and getting started on my chores until it was a bit warmer outside.  Once I was at home, though; it was time to really get going on the yard work; and that kept me busy for most of the day.  I took some time off while Michael was on his break, and we went for a bike ride around the town and park; but then he worked the dinner-to-close shift; and I split my time between chores and some quiet play time in the lounge after dinner.

Michael came over after work; we watched a movie on our own in the lounge after we took care of getting the twins tucked in; and there might have been a bit more teen-rated fun for two while we had the bonus alone time.  He went home at a bit after midnight; and I’ve had a bit of family business to deal with that came up via email while I was doing my bedtime computer and email check.  That didn’t take long, but it has cut into my sleep time a bit; so I want to wrap this up and get started on that down time soon.

Before I do that, though; let’s do a micro-update of the rest of Michael’s birthday news from Friday.

Tai Chi was chilly, but still outdoors and by the river; I went with Michael to the Inn for his birthday breakfast; that included a video chat with Rebecca, Jen, and Lucas; and then we had to get to school.  The top news for the school day was Michael’s birthday lunch; and that was because I had enough cake and ice cream delivered to pretty much feed every kid and teen in the school.  Michael had some gifts too; but we saved most of them for the post-football-game party.

I had time to run home between last class and when I needed to be back for cheerleading, and I spent most of that time getting ready for the game and Michael’s birthday party.  I already mentioned that we won the game, but I’ll add that the cheerleading was awesome too – and I was really fired up while getting to watch Michael have such an awesome game!  The score wasn’t all that high for us, but it was the defensive play that really stole the show last night; and Michael and Tim had to really hold back after earning four touchdowns between them or they really would have been able to run it up on Sweetwater Ponds.

Michael’s party didn’t really last all that long when we had so little time between being done at the school and when everyone needed to head home – especially the friends that needed to work first thing in the morning.  We did have fun with the campfire; music; some dancing; and the birthday gifts and special snacks that were all part of the fun.

I’m practically dozing off while writing this; so it’s definitely time to wrap things up with that; and get to sleep.  Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, but probably not all that exciting for the first day of October, but then it’s okay if we start out slow; since Halloween is sure to be at the other end of the extreme fun level.  Now I’m rambling, and don’t want to descend into babbling from there; so, until next time...
