Happy 10th Anniversary, Jake and Stephanie!
Happy 25th Birthday, Shayne Gordon!
We dropped off a gift and best wishes to Jake and Stephanie this morning, but they aren’t really getting to party until after the Inn closes for the day because they’re too-busy to take a summer season weekend off. Ehlana and I didn’t talk with Shayne at all, but we know that Cassie and Michael offered their best wishes with a vid-chat and sent gifts to their college friend; and we’ll guess that Serena will help him out with having a happy day even if they’re both working today too. While we’re thinking about them, let’s add that Shayne is doing very well with his fledgling computer programming career; and Serena is a very-popular interpreter and translator – though she hasn’t worked her way up to interpreting for the biggest power players in government yet. We won’t comment on whether her beauty will fast-track her rise to the top, but have heard stories about requests for her services that have been inappropriate or above her current pay grade.
While we’re not going to be involved in any partying that Jake and Stephanie can do, we’ve had a pretty good day so far. The weather has stayed cooler and in the mid-seventies for the high, so my football workout was good; Mom had some bonus chores for us to deal with until lunchtime; and then we took a picnic lunch along and biked the trails from then to now with a couple of swim breaks that included one at a farm pond south of town. We’re home early-enough to help Mom with the pre-dinner cooking; and Mom and Dad are hosting a family-and-friends’ dinner and a movie night. Naomi and Aiden are staying another night too – even though her parents are home and her Mom is working at the salon tonight, but Sophia and Aaron are booked for some babysitting and might get Jake and Stephanie’s kids for the night too – though they might end up with other cousins or grandparents after the babysitting.
We’re going to be busy for the rest of the day too – though our help with younger cousins tonight will be more along the lines of using the lounge for video gaming or outdoor play time. We’ll have those stories for you with the next report, but we need to wrap this up and get to work in the kitchen. Cassie and Michael have had a good work day in Italy, and while they still have more to do this weekend; they’ll be doing more sightseeing too before moving on to Greece and Cyprus next week. Yes, they do have a tough job – even when they get to enjoy doing that work in some of the most-beautiful places in the world!
We really do need to go and help Mom now; so we’re skipping a world news report and that’s all we have for today.
