Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - April 10, 2019

Ethan:

We’ve had a beautiful weather day; and that’s likely the news of the day.  It’s also why we had lots of outdoor play time at school; took the day off from the lab; and biked and played with our friends after school.  We even got approval for an outdoor picnic dinner to extend our play time with Naomi and Aiden; and cut back on the evening work and studying instead of doing more and staying up later.

It’s been an awesome day; and now I’m ready to crash and nap – so I will.

Ethan – out!

Ehlana:

I’ll go with that report; and only add a bit of news from Cassie.  She’s started taking her equivalency exams tonight; so she’s going to have two or more extra long days every week for a while now to get that testing done – and she needs to do that for most of her sophomore classes to make that jump to the second semester this summer and then on to her junior year in August.  We’re not worried about her keeping up with the work, but I can feel a bit guilty about having play days while she’s working twenty hours or more a day right now.  Sure, she didn’t do that at our age either, but things are very different for Magi kids now than they were before Mom and Cassie moved here; so that’s not a surprise.

Don’t get me wrong, I won’t be trading the fun for more work in some kind of sacrifice, but it’s still true that Ethan and I have it pretty easy right now by comparison – and we’re grateful for everything we get to do and have – including play time with our family and friends.

Okay, that’s all I have for tonight.  We have had a really good day; and it has been great to have a weather day that has us looking forward to the sunny and warm that will, hopefully, get to us sooner instead of later as we head toward summer.

This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live from what is now my past!
