Ethan and Ehlana:
Welcome to the Witch Falls family, Aaron Landry!
We didn’t quite get to have two Halloween babies in one year, but Erin did go into labor while at the football game last night with Kyle; and there are sure to be Halloween and football themed jokes for Aaron and his parents! Kyle did miss some pretty good game play as we completed the undefeated regular season with a sixty-six to forty-four win over Pinehurst. You can guess that defenses had issues last night, but then two of my touchdowns were thanks to defensive interceptions and Aiden had one too out of his three touchdowns on the night! Aaron only had one touchdown, but earned a lot of all-purpose yards on offense. Ehlana wants me to mention that I had two offensive touchdowns to go with the two on defense; so consider that done while I am happiest when I don’t get noticed and leave the attention-getting to our more-overt team mates.
There was so much going on last night; we can’t really cover it all in this update. We missed out on all of the trick-or-treating, but loved the football game adventure and then the school Halloween dance was amazing too. Naomi and the Haunted Harmonies impressed everyone – including the teens from Pinehurst that stayed for the dance, and while we didn’t have much of a break for dancing or socializing; we do love playing music together and had a blast entertaining everyone at the dance – including the chaperones! We wrapped up our day with a co-ed sleepover that Ehlana and I hosted, but we don’t actually have much to offer for news because by the time we got our gear home from the school and put away; it wasn’t long before we all fell asleep without finishing even one movie!
The Landry baby news was the top story at breakfast – after our frosty Tai Chi workout by the river, but we didn’t get involved at all and have spent the day since then to now working on another round of fall clean-up chores. That included packing up Halloween decorations at multiple homes and the rest of the usual work, but we have also been reminded today that we do have it fairly-easy with the equipment advantages we have now; and it is true that we can get a lot more done faster with the lawn tractors we can use that have all of the fancy attachments like baggers and mulchers! It has taken all day and we’ll be having a late dinner, but we finished our to-do lists; and now Ehlana and I are getting cleaned up and will be hosting our four best friends again for another co-ed sleepover because we didn’t do much more than sleep last night.
They’ll be here soon and we still need to help with some work in the kitchen; so let’s wrap this up. Cassie and Michael will be staying in America Samoa for the rest of that part of their trip, so it is still Saturday morning there as we’re writing this update. They are still getting lots of rain every day, and we hope that they will get some sunnier breaks more-often for the rest of their South Pacific adventures, but it continues to be true that they likely learn more witnessing the weather challenges that their business and charity partners have to deal with compared to when it is sunny, hot, and all is well!
We are not going to get into a world news report today – staying happy for the rest of the day will be easier if we at least pretend that we didn’t do that part of our usual daily computing and know that all of the usual bad news continues without any ‘real’ change. Let’s just save up and do a weekend report for those stories tomorrow night! The rest of our stories for today can wait too; and we know that it will be more fun than the chores have been – even while we’re feeling good about everything we got done today. The fall chores work will slow down now too, but we’ll just get busier with other work and fun as we switch from Halloween to Thanksgiving-themed adventures. We are expecting November to be amazing too; and we are going to work on making that happen right now and for the rest of the night!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
